Bioinformatics Software Engineer

Georgette Femerling, MSc.

Georgette holds an MSc in Human Genetics from McGill University, where she worked in the Gravel Lab on population structure and demographic inference, and a BSc in Genomic Sciences from UNAM, where she developed her interest in population genetics through research on human evolution and endangered species conservation. She brings a strong combination of genomics and software expertise, with a track record building production-grade Nextflow pipelines and multi-omic analysis workflows, and optimizing large-scale compute environments for complex genomic data. She previously contributed to major genomic data platforms at the Centre de recherche Azrieli du CHU Sainte-Justine and the Centre québécois de données génomiques (CQDG), supporting national Canadian genomic initiatives, and is a co-author on population genetics studies published in Science, Nature Communications, and PLOS Genetics.

At 5 Prime Sciences, Georgette develops and scales the computational pipelines that power the company's genetics-first approach to drug discovery.
